Designing For Circularity
At The Recycle Studio, circularity has always been at the core of what we do. Every choice we’ve made, from machine design to material sourcing, comes back to this guiding principle.
In doing so, we’re making it simple for lovers of design to confidently and enthusiastically choose materials and products that are planet positive.
At The Recycle Studio, we don’t just use waste—we flaunt it.
From linear to circular
The traditional linear economy is based on take, make, and waste—draining our planet's resources. The majority of materials used for design require extraction, whether that be mining for stone or deforestation. We break that cycle by using a material that already exists, transforming plastic waste into premium materials for high-end design. With up to 28 kilos of recycled plastic in every sheet (equivalent to 2,000 yogurt pots), our materials capture waste at the optimal moment—before it can reach the environment, be exported, or downcycled into low-value items.
Design that decontaminates
Our materials aren’t just from made from waste; they’re designed to take it out of the system. They’re lab-tested for durability, fully recyclable, and made to be refurbished or repaired, offering long-term value while reducing environmental impact. We prioritize plastics with a low recycling rate like HIPS, which is also a significant ocean pollutant, giving new life to materials others overlook.
Renewable Energy, Minimal Waste
Our production is powered by renewable energy from Costa Rica’s national grid. We’re committed to zero-waste practices: production excess is repurposed, and even floor sweepings are processed for reuse. Slow design is key—we only produce what’s needed, ensuring minimal waste and maximizing resource efficiency.
Turning Waste into a Statement
We take what others overlook and turn it into striking, high-end design. Our materials proudly wear their recycled origins as a badge of honor, transforming discarded plastics into standout pieces. When you choose our products, you’re not just selecting sustainable materials—you’re championing a future where the most unexpected and undesired resources lead the way in high-end design.
